The Mission Is Possible: Youth Awareness' a 90-minute documentary, featuring four ex-cons (Elsun Birmingham, Raheem Harley, Maria Santana and Justice Stewart) in rap sessions with at-risk teens, highlights the importance of education and seeks to empower teens challenged by the social ills of AIDS, drugs and violence. The film is a powerful, heart-wrenching story about pain, regret and bad choices, yet if fosters a sense of hope and inspiration. It also features Patti LaBelle, Susan Sarandon, Wyclef Jean, Sean Paul, Zoe Saldana, City Council Member Peter Vallone Jr. and Bishop Mitchell G. Taylor and others, who offer practical advice to youth and parents.
