other routes besides being in the back of the projects
selling coke, dope, crack, heroin. You’re never
gonna find your path or your purpose in life if you
don’t try to broaden your horizons through some
type of type formal education or informal education.”
Elsun was
2 years old when his father was killed.
He lived in every borough except Staten Island but
considers Brooklyn his home.
At 15 he
was arrested for criminal possession of a
weapon. At 18 Elsun served a 4 year sentence for
robbery and at 26 he served an additional 10 year
sentence for robbery. Elsun's mother gave birth to
six kids. He was the youngest of four boys. All of
his older brothers are dead. One of his brothers
was shot 18 times. His two sisters are alive.
One is in prison and the other is strung out on
crack.
