With the explosive growth of mobile devices, I&#039;d also add that mobile compatibility is also an important factor.  ie. avoid Flash or Applet based chats!

After searching up and down, I&#039;ve found Chatroll (http://chatroll.com) fitting the bill.

I was using Meebo before that, but the ads and lack of brand control just didn&#039;t cut it, and IRC is just too difficult to use.</description>
